Campus and Buildings

Learning comes alive on Henson Valley’s new 15-acre wooded campus in Prince George’s County, a unique learning environment carefully designed to awaken a passion for excellence, nurture a child’s natural curiosity and imagination and inspire the human spirit.

An impressive gateway lines the entrance to the campus and walkways with student-grown wildflowers grace the paths to our classrooms and other buildings.

Our school’s international focus is reflected throughout the campus. More than 35 flags displayed represent the home nations of our diverse faculty and student body, a fitting welcome to a school that is international in scope and global in service.

The campus is spread across four buildings and three classroom cottages, each named after one of the continents of the world. The interior of each building is also designed to reflect some aspect of its continent, reminding us that Henson Valley is the beginning of our students’ journey into the world, as they take bold steps to learn and grow.

Classrooms

You will not find traditional rows of desks in HVMS classrooms. Instead, you will be greeted by sights of purposefully planned and organized classrooms centered on intriguing learning material – fascinating mathematical models, globes, charts, historical artifacts, counting beads, scientific specimens and class pets.
