Extended Day

The HVMS Extended Day program is designed to give students an opportunity to spend quality time in an environment that is safe, enriching, and enjoyable.

It is a place where creativity is nurtured and developed. The students have the opportunity to choose from numerous activities throughout the afternoon. The days activities could include, cooking, jewelry making, story telling, board games, and outside play. In addition all students in elementary and above are given a study hall period. This time is an opportunity for them to work on homework, initiate research projects, or enjoy reading for pleasure.

Full-time Registration Enrollment

Families that know that they will need this service on a regular basis should complete a contract at the beginning of the year. The contract and payment options allow for morning care, afternoon care ending by 5pm and afternoon care ending at 6pm.

Drop-in Registration

Families may register their children for drop-in service. Rates for this service are based on a minimum 24 hour notice. Registering with less notice will qualify as emergency drop in care.

Emergency Drop-in

If you need to use Extended Day services on an emergency basis, please send a note to the school office and to your child's teacher letting them know that your child should go to Extended Day. You will be charged the emergency drop in rate. In addition, any child not enrolled in Extended Day and not picked up from school by 3:15 will automatically be enrolled in Extended Day at the emergency drop in rate.

The morning Extended day program runs from 7:00am to 8:45am and the afternoon program runs from 3:15pm to 6:00pm.
